ABOUT US
Up Close & Personal
The desire to have a coffee shop was inspired by our oldest daughter, Ellie. As she neared adulthood, we wanted her to do something meaningful, and to use her strengths to the best of her ability. We knew that traditional employment wasn't a good option for Ellie at this time, so we decided to create one. While she was our inspiration, we knew that there are others in the community with the same desire. The opportunity to be a part of a community, earn an income, and feel valued. Out of this idea, Common Grounds was born. We chose this name because we wanted to emphasize that all people, regardless of your background, are more alike than different.
