ABOUT US
Up Close & Personal
The inspiration for our non-profit coffee shop began with a deeply personal journey. As our daughter with Down Syndrome approached high school graduation, we faced a harsh reality—there were limited employment opportunities available for her and many of her peers with disabilities in our community. This gap in meaningful, inclusive employment left many talented individuals without a path forward.
Recognizing the potential for change, we looked to successful employment models in other communities that provided inclusive job opportunities for people with disabilities. Motivated by their impact, we were driven to create a similar space in our own county—one that would not only offer employment but also dignity, purpose, and connection.
With a large population of individuals with disabilities in our area, we knew the need was significant. Our coffee shop is more than just serving the best coffee in town; it is a mission to empower, uplift, and integrate individuals with disabilities into the fabric of our community through meaningful work.
